Validation that is done included looking for address ranges that are out of range, milepoints that are not logical, missing zip codes, missing text field values like the road name, etc. Validation errors are reported back to the road authority for verification and correction. Length fields are generated by GIS software and are assumed to be accurate. Data from individual road authroities is validated using FME for things like inconsistent attribute values, missing attribute values and for geometry anomolies like short segments, etc. These validations are based on general understandings and assumptions about the native datasets. Data is then categorized based on ownership and loaded into the database. The analysis is reported back to the road authority and corrections are made by the road authorities. Updates are made back into OR-Trans, usually on the next update cycle. Ownership was not always derived from a value in the source datasets. Ownership may have been derived from other polygon layers that indicate ownership. The polygons, in conjunction with other information, was used to derive ownership at the Framework level. If there is a question about ownership, the suspect road authority of the the road segment should be contacted to verify ownership. Data is assumed to be complete at the time of posting. Data is not validated for completeness by ODOT. Ongoing "checking" of the data is preformed through the use of the data and issues are reported back to the road authorities. The positional accuracy of each individual dataset varies but are equal to or better than the standards for 1:24k accuracy. Some datasets may be significantly more accurate but OR-Trans data as a whole is only assumed to be 1:24k accurate as per the NSDI standards.
